Feeling Stuck and Lost
I grew up in a family where my father was very strict and unkind. When I was a child, he used to hit me and make decisions on my behalf, without giving me the freedom to choose for myself. Over time, I tried to forget these experiences, but they still affected me in ways I didn’t realize at the time. One of the biggest impacts was that he made me hate school and learning.
As a result, I completed my baccalaureate with a low grade. In my country, having low grades means you don’t have good options to study in public universities, so private schools become the only solution. I ended up choosing architecture and studied for six years. It was a tough journey, full of struggles, but I managed to graduate.
However, after all these years of hard work, I now find myself stuck. There is an ongoing conflict between the government and private architecture schools, which prevents me from working in my field. I can't gain experience or create opportunities for myself abroad. I feel lost, as if my life is not moving forward, and I’m afraid I’ll stay in this situation forever.
Right now, I feel broke and lonely. I have a girlfriend, but I feel like I’m losing her because she deserves better—she’s in a much better financial situation than I am. I'm still living with my parents, and I feel like a burden to them since I stay at home all day with nothing to do. This makes me feel really bad, and I don't see many options or opportunities ahead of me.
I feel overwhelmed and unsure of what to do with my life
@philosophicalWater696 I'm sorry you went through that with your dad 😥 depression has a horrible way of making us think of only the bad and worst outcomes. Things may not have worked out the way you wanted it, but it doesn't mean it's over. Perhaps take this time to look over other possible options, think what you really want in life ❤ hugs you tightly ❤ you can make it happen ❤
