How to restore happiness?
With depression, I've been struggling with feeling pleasure or deep hapiness or joy. I can smile, I can laugh, but inside me there's no stimulation like before.
I know what I like, I have lots of interests and long-term projects but I just can't feel happiness again since last year's summer, when my depression started. I feel like my soul is broken in two, my heart became dark. I feel like a dead person inside, despite being alive. Seems that nothing really matters, not even my emotions.
What can I do to restore happiness and interest?
I am so sorry that you are struggling. There is another side to all of this but it can take a bit to find your way there.
Do you have a good support network? Are you talking to any therapists or doctors?
For me, I started healing when I went back to the basics like making sure I had enough food, water, and sunshine.
Tell us more about what is going on. Sometimes just dumping what is in your brain out helps. @Politonno
Thanks for your response. Yes, I am having sessions with my psichologist therapist.
I feel like I can't be happy anymore. Things that used to be significant for me ar now just as important as a wall. I had a tough year with failed romantic love, difficult economy and problems when I want to hang out with my friends because I can't afford most basic things such as a restaurant meal.
I also speak a lot to my friends about my emotional status. Lefe for me had meaning when there was joy and significance, but now it's low
So it is great that you have a solid friend and therapy network. I know that isn't enough, but it is a start. Coming here is a way of extending that so keep doing it.
Yes when finances and romance aren't working simultaneously that can be especially challenging.
But there are definitely things that you can do. Start with the eating and getting outside. Are you doing 3 meals per day? Are you getting outside to do any form of exercise? @Politonno
I actually eat well, but I don't practice much exercise. I can't find a place or a moment to start. I struggle with sleeping schedules
It is too tough to walk time wise or weather wise?
