Well I had depression for so so long

And I even went to a doctor and gave me meds for a long time which didn't really help me

So I was wondering how actually to start cure this depression? My day is nothing but sleeping and scrolling qnd whenever I try to get up I have no energy and also feel like "what should I even do?"

When I went to a therapist too she asked me What's the problem and I literally didn't know how to answer ....I can see that there's a problem but I don't know what is it or what should I do or from where to start?

If anyone have any advice I hope you to tell me because at this rate I feel my life is tooken away from me and I don't know how to stop it

@orangegreen365

Just be honest and tell them exactly what you said here.

That you feel unmotivated and foggy and that your day just passes you by.

I admire you for opening up and being vulnerable.

It's a quiet strength to ask for help 🩷

Depression can take so much from us

It must get help to to small, daily consistent tasks to build up your confidence and allow you to start returning to yourself 🩷

Sending you my best wishes 🩷

It's definitely hard to move forward and do things when you're confused or feel stuck.

Have you ever tried journalling? It might be a way to uncensor yourself but where you feel safe and only you will be comfortable reading it back, or sharing it.

Maybe think about what gave you joy before? Reading, painting, exercise? Anything that gives you a lil purpose and then you can check it off and say yes, that was productive :)

I'm sure you will find your way, if not continue using the forums :)

@orangegreen365 Hello, a good starting point is to get up and do something. It can be anything, maybe try finding a hobby you enjoy, so your days don't consist of staying on your phone all day! That could be a good starting point.

@orangegreen365 I remember the exact morning it started to change.

October 12th. 6:47 AM. I had been in bed for eleven months. Not exaggerating. Eleven months of sleeping, scrolling, existing without living. My mom would knock and leave food outside my door like I was a wounded animal. She was right.

That morning, something was different. Not inside me. Inside the room. Light was coming through the curtains in a way I hadn't noticed before. Just a thin strip of gold across the floor.

I stared at that light for twenty minutes.

Then I did something stupid. I got up. Walked to the window. Pulled the curtain back.

Outside, a bird was sitting on the branch of a tree I forgot existed. Just a regular pigeon. Dirty gray. Nothing special. But it was alive and moving and the sun was on its feathers and I realized.

I hadn't looked at anything real in almost a year.

That was it. That was the moment. Not a revelation. Not a cure. Just a pigeon and some light.

The next day I opened the window for thirty seconds. The next week I stood outside for two minutes. The next month I walked to the corner and back.

It took two more years before I felt okay. Two years of small things. Showers. Meals with my mom. Phone calls that lasted five minutes instead of none.

Now I work at a coffee shop. I talk to people all day. They don't know I used to be the person who couldn't talk at all. They don't know I was the person who forgot what light looked like.

I'm not special. I'm just proof.

Proof that you don't climb out of ***. You step out, one tiny step at a time.

Tomorrow morning, if you can do nothing else. Find a window. Look through it. Find one real thing. A bird. A cloud. A leaf. Just one.

That's not nothing. That's how it starts.

I know because I lived it.

And I'm still here.
