I....I don't feel good
About two years ago some events plunged me into a state of depression and my mental health plummeted. I didn't want to worry my mom since i had put on a facade for too long so i decided against talking about it and asking help burying my emotions. But now i feel like I'm drowning i want to bury it again but i don't think i can. I'm feeling so suffocated i don't know what to do

Hello, You are at the right place! 5 years ago I was in a similar situation and I had overwhelming anxiety, PTSD, depression, and so many triggers from my trauma that I finally coudn't handle the pressure. It was like I had painted a floor until my back was up against the wall. Yup, I painted myself into a corner and so I called the crisis hotline and talked for a few days anonymously, and realized I needed to go to the hospital. I spent almost 2 weeks in the psych ward and then 6 weeks in an intensive out-patient (all day) program, followed by another partial program 4 hours a day (3 times a week). About that time I found 7Cups and I have since improved because of medications, 2 therapists, a case worker, and I got service connected because I am a veteran.
I learned that it's all about self-care, self-advocacy, proper medications, and a support team of friends who you learned are trust-worthy and humble, the people that suffer are the best people to ask for help because they speak our language, and have understanding. We all need direction and purpose and 7 Cups provides that in many ways if you let it become a habit of daily use. My routine revolves around 7 Cups now, and it's great because as I learned I shared the good news about finding out we do get better! Once we learn more coping with struggles skills and learn how to take better care of our mental health, it all starts to feel better and rewarding for the efforts. I send strength!! Tag me any time.
Blessings, Day
