I am so sad and alone!
I am crying alone in the dark. My fiance' does not seem to see that I'm drowning or maybe he just doesn't care. I tried talking to him about everything I am dealing with. Then I realized he is drunk and not grasping any of what I have shared with him. I have had to do house cleaning alone for weeks. I have had to prep the house for the appraisal today alone. I have been working a two-person job that he is supposed to be helping with alone. He looks at other women online and doesn't even flirt with me anymore. When I try to flirt with him, he just puts me down, as if I'm unattractive or something. He used to be so energetic, so into me and into lightening my load. He blames his lack of motivation and effort on his current daytime job. Says the boredom takes a lot out of him, but I know there is more. I have taken out loans that he was willing to let me ruin my credit over. I have worked hard on these wedding plans alone. I just feel so alone and don't have anyone to talk to about it.
@Adorableness Hello. This is Donvick a listener here on 7 cup and I would love you to know that you are not alone as you could always open up to me
@Adorableness Also, I can see that you have really put in so much effort and resources in order to make this work, and you should not really feel bad for that. I see you as a good person, who loves to give people chance to become better and you should not change that part of you
@Adorableness I get to understand that in the past, he was the kind of person you loved, but as things went on, he changed but blamed it to his loss of job. Have you tried having an open discussion with him on how his actions is really making you feel?
@Adorableness
I’m really sorry you’re going through this, and I want you to know your pain is valid. You’re not wrong for feeling heartbroken, overwhelmed, or disappointed. You’ve been carrying so much emotionally, physically, and financially and the person who should be standing beside you, helping you through it, is instead making you feel invisible.
It hurts when someone who once made you feel cherished now makes you feel like you’re not enough. It’s not just about chores or wedding plans it’s about the loneliness that comes from being in a relationship where your needs aren’t being seen or met. That’s a deep kind of sadness, and I’m so sorry you’re facing it.
You deserve to be loved with tenderness, respect, and reciprocity. You deserve a partner who not only hears you, but listens who lifts you up when you’re breaking, not adds to the weight. The fact that you're still trying, still caring, still giving it speaks to your strength, not your weakness. You're not unlovable or unattractive. You're exhausted from being the only one holding everything together.
Please don’t let this make you question your worth. It’s okay to ask yourself hard questions now, even if it’s scary. You deserve to be in a relationship that fills you with peace, not doubt. You don’t have to figure it all out tonight, but know that you are not alone even in this dark moment. You are worthy of real love, real effort, and real partnership.
And I’m here to listen, anytime you need.
