I am so sad today
I have moments each day where I feel awful. Sometimes I have no idea why. I am pretty sad at the moment. I have no real close friends and I am not close to my family. The only person I am close to is my husband but I think he gets overwhelmed sometimes dealing with me, at which point, I feel like I have no one to turn to. I feel like, if I die, there will absolutely be a minimum amount of folks that would care. I don’t feel loved like I should be by my family and I don’t think I am liked at all by anyone. I don’t even like myself most days. Most days I just what to escape.
@aquaDime1984 Some of us get family that is not easy to be close to. Do you notice you get sad after say watching tv or social media perhaps? Are there ways you can get to like yourself better, even love yourself? Sometimes we need to learn these things so we can self-sooth rather than depend on significant others for that. Not that they shouldn’t supply soothing and support, but sometimes they are struggling as well.
Thanks. This makes me feel like I am being selfish for wanting to talk to others because they have their own stuff to deal with. I don’t even bother anyone but my husband. No one calls me or calls to check on me. This makes me feel like I should find a way to depend on myself (which I have done all my life). However, it gets lonely.
@aquaDime1984 Sorry, I didn’t mean to say you were being selfish. You said your husband was feeling overwhelmed, so it sounds like he isn’t being very helpful at the moment. If no one is there for us at the moment, then we can try to be creative in trying to self sooth, but it does get lonely for sure. Some folks on 7 Cups might help you feel less lonely. At the top of the 7 Cups page there is an “Advice” link. At the bottom of that page there is link to resources on loneliness. It might help a little. I know what it is like to have non-supportive family members, or once supportive family members be less supportive than they had been in the past.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles and pain. That is a hard situation to be in. Why do you not like yourself on most days? I'm sure there are a number of positive things about you. I suggest you take an inventory of positive things about you and reflect on them sometimes and remind yourself of positive traits and positive things you did. It is just a suggestion and you do not have to do it.
This is a very good suggestion. I don’t like myself because I feel like I’m overweight and because of that I feel very unattractive. I also feel like I don’t contribute enough because of my depression/health which makes me feel guilty and sad. I wish I had the energy to do more but I just feel like 💩 most days 😊 due to depression, health issues and medication. I want to read the Bible everyday, clean my house everyday, take care of everything I need to take care of at work everyday, be confident everyday, go to religious services twice a week, wash my car once a week, exercise everyday, pray regularly, cook most days, wash clothes for everyone every week, iron, and put them up, take my daughter to and from school everyday, etc. If I did all these things and more at the frequency mentioned I believe I may like myself a little bit more. I do some of these things already just not at the frequency I would like to do them. I do need to list the things I do accomplish and then maybe I would feel better about myself.
It sounds like depression is hitting you pretty hard. I am so sorry. Part of it is brain chemicals that aren't reacting properly. Have you tried talking to a doctor?@aquaDime1984
