π³ Identity Beyond Diagnosis- Part 5: Building an Authentic Self
πΏ Welcome back.
Thank you for continuing this journey.
Over the past few sessions, you've explored your labels, your inner stories, your strengths, and your emotions.
Today, we'll gently turn our attention toward something that helps shape a meaningful life:
Your authentic self.
π Have you ever noticed that we sometimes live according to expectations rather than our own values?
We try to fit in.
We try to meet standards.
We try to become who we think we're supposed to be.
π³ But beneath all of that is a quieter question:
Who do I want to be?
Not based on fear.
Not based on pressure.
Not based on labels.
But based on what truly matters to you.
π± Your authentic self isn't about being perfect.
It's about living in a way that feels honest and aligned with your values.
Like a tree, growth doesn't happen overnight.
It happens one season at a time.
πΏ If you'd like, reflect on these questions:
π³ What values are most important to me?
π³ When do I feel most like myself?
π³ What kind of person do I hope others experience when they're with me?
π³ What's one small choice I can make this week that reflects the person I want to become?
There are no perfect answers.
Only honest ones.
π A small reflection activity
If you feel comfortable, write down:
π± Three values that guide your life.
π± One quality you want to strengthen.
π± One small action you'll take this week that reflects your authentic self.
Remember...
You don't become your authentic self in one big moment.
You grow into it through many small choices.
π³ Imagine planting a young tree.
You don't expect it to become tall in a single day.
You water it.
You care for it.
You give it time.
Growth happens quietly.
So does personal growth.
πΏ Before we finish, here's one thought to carry with you:
The most meaningful version of yourself isn't someone you have to create from scratch. It's someone you're gradually uncovering.
π± And one final question:
If you were living fully according to your values, what is one small thing you might do differently tomorrow?
Thank you for spending this time with yourself.
I'll see you in Part 6: Creating a New Chapter.
