I don't see the point in life

Hello. I am a 24 year old girl. I don't see the point in life. Sometimes it gets to the point that I make cuts on my arm. Sometimes just to hurt, and sometimes I wanted to die. I think that if I could live forever, then I would see the meaning in life. If I lived forever, I could have time to try everything I want. I would have time to feel sorry for myself and relax and have fun and read everything I want and go where I want. And to die in 50 years, and also senile problems - it's not very tempting.

Help..

@Lisa4312 You are blessed with being born at this time. How can that be a blessing you ask? Because YOUR chance of being born (you, not someone else) depended on a Gazallion lifetimes before you. Your parents parents parents back to the beginning of human kind. Not just them but all the people around them that enabled their survival. You can disregard this as meaninglessness. Or you can ponder it as a miracle of sorts. Statistically you should not have survived this fragile chain of lives that led up to you being here. There are a gazallion books and stories and knowledge that is the product of your ancestors. In a sense you have been given 100,000 life times. Your time is short, but YOU are a brilliant miracle. Shall you throw it away or if not, what will you do with this one wild and beautiful life that you have the opportunity live? And if you want to contemplate the future child who owes their life to your existence (either through having children yourself or being a contributor to society) realize that your life WILL matter to someone in the future, just as the “random” person in your great x 1000 grandparent life made your life possible. That person from the past might have pulled some wheat from a field that fed your ancestors. Or maybe one of your ancestors was feeling down just like you and some stranger offered their kindness, maybe just a smile or kind word that kept your ancestor alive for one day. You never know exactly how you will fit in the lives of future generations. It may be huge or small. You may cure cancer or pay taxes that fixes the stop light that makes some avoid an accident. Try to notice how interconnected we all are, to other people, to plants and animals and insects. Not one of us could survive on this planet with all these things. In many ways your life is so much easier than that of your ancestors. In some ways it might also be so much more psychologically challenging. It is what it is. We did not choose to be born, and if we had a choice at all we’d be rich and have the most awesome family and friends and community and live on the best place on this earth. Most of us don’t get that, but we still get alllll this beautiful potential. ….. and if all of that is boring bs, then I return you to the regularly scheduled program in your head where this life ain’t enough unless you live an immortal life. I’ve had these kinds of daydreams and complaints too but they just don’t feel inspiring. Maybe my story of inspiration isn’t for you, but please find one that fits you. You’re worth an exciting story - an exciting life. Try to look beyond the life that someone will sell you. The cloths, cars, yachts, fame, power, whatever. These can bring happiness for sure, but how quick are we to tire of our toys only to fixate on the next best toy to make us happy. We are alive. We can smile. We can laugh. We can make others laugh. Sometimes that is the “real” happiness. A car doesn’t hurt though 😂
