Illuminator

Never gives herself credit for the light she brings, the little lights and little sparks of life that she brings to others

Depression is a liar. I've so been there with you. The world needs your unique little lights, even if they seem so unappreciated, even if the world still seems so dark sometimes, your tiny light is beyond important... And I know how hard it is to pierce the dark but you do.

I promise I am praying for you for real right now with my tiny light that I almost gave up on many times. Can you feel this tiny light of prayer? Just a little bit? When you close your eyes? I wish I could hold up a mirror from across the world so that you could see  🌤️YOUR SHINE🌤️

I promise you that's not true. Depression is something that physically affects the brain, which means when we have depression or we're going through an extra difficult time, it affects how we see ourselves, how we see our past or present interactions, how others view us or what they think about us. Countless times I have been 100% convinced with absolute certainty that my friends are better off without me and I can think of dozens of reasons and examples why I KNOW that's true. And even when they tell me over and over again it's not true, I KNOW they're just lying because they feel sorry for me. It all feels completely real. But once I get out of that super intense bad place I realise that's not true. Sometimes it takes a while to get out of it.

I know it seems terrible to be told "Hey don't listen to your brain, you can't trust your own thoughts," but it's sometimes the best think to hold onto when your thoughts are overwhelmingly negative and hopeless, because it gives you some tiny bit of comfort that hey, maybe things aren't exactly how you see them right this moment, you know?

@Erinsingh56 I am sorry that you are not feeling well. Depression can be really difficult. You have to know that you do not have to be alone with that. Asking for help is a good way to start your healing. You deserve to be listened to without judgment.
