Lonely but surrounded
Out of 24 hours in a day, I probably get around 2 hours to myself every night. I have 3 kids, two of them being toddlers who refuse to spend an entire night in their own beds. My husband works 2nd shift, so he generally misses bedtime, even on his days off. I am not sleeping well whatsoever. My brain and body are so exhausted but I cannot sleep. Due to the toddlers coming in every single night, my husband decided it was best to just sleep on the couch. This has been going on for almost a year now. When my husband is home on his days off, he generally spends his time on the computer playing games and talking with friends; While I am basically tackling the children (he does help, but usually I need to ask). It’s exhausting. I feel so disconnected with myself, with him, with everyone. I hate feeling THIS lonely in a house full of people.
and yes, I have talked to my husband about this. Things change for a night or so, then go right back to being the same.
thanks for reading, I just really needed to vent. 🙏🏻
@losu316 gives you a giant tiny hug ❤ children are a real blessing, but definetly hard work. Especially 2 toddlers. Good luck with that ❤ I don't really understand how families work. But I think someone really needs to wake your husband up, and shows him he needs to do more. Wishes you all the best ❤❤
Hi,
Sounds like you’re exhausted! No wonder with small children and a partner that works hard. Tiredness really does impact on how you feel and can be a lonely place.
Can I ask? Do you get out and about with the kiddies to any playgroups in your area?
Vent any time you want on this thread. That is a really rough time when you have so many little ones.
You do deserve to carve out some time for you. What would it look like for you to get a hotel room for a night maybe once every few months at a bare minimum?@losu316
