Motivational speeches
I am not sure anyone else has this problem.
I find a great deal of motivational speeches are these rants where some one yells at the top of their voice how they will overcome and not let life beat them. If this is intended for depressed people that are off mark. If I had some fight left in me I would not be in this position.
I once thrived on adversity. Mentally or physically
But in the end they won and i am beaten.

Hi!
I agree that most "motivational speakers" (and writers) of the "Positive Thinking" school go over the top with a "Tell yourself you feel great, and you will" message that sooner or later backfires.
Things are far from that simple.
In particular, those simplistic messages might feel derogative to someone struggling with real-world depression, and so, very counterproductive.
I agree. Motivational speeches can sometimes just make you feel worse because your brain isn't there right now. No need to feel more guilty than you already do.
What kinds of things do you do to care for yourself?@Gettingbettertoday
@bestVase7265
Just the basics. Eat, sleep, etc...
Those count big time. Make sure you praise yourself for doing them. Self care isn't all bubble baths.
Do you have any hobbies or do you get out into nature at all? All of that stuff can help a bit for some people. For me that has always been better than trying to "control my thoughts" or "think positively". @Gettingbettertoday
