Not sure if I should

January 21st, 2023

So, if you read my last post, you'd already know about the weird stuff I've been experiencing with feeling things that aren't there.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be seeing my doctor next month and I've been thinking about trying to mention it to him, but not sure how good of an idea it is. (Especially since the last time I tried bringing it up to someone, I started uncontrollably crying lol)

I might try since he might be able to help, but idk.

Hi!

In my humble opinion, it is a good idea to tell your doctor.

Crying is ok. You are very worried about this, so it carries a heavy emotional weight that you express by crying. You are a wonderful human being, not a cold machine. Doctors are used to seeing their patients crying, and take it naturally.

For your doctor to be able to best support you, he must know all the relevant information possible about your mental health.

And this seems highly relevant.

I hope that you start feeling better soon, and that this consultation helps you deal well with this issue that worries you so much.

I wish you all the best!

Marcelo.

Note: I deleted the "trigger warning" from the title of your post (I am Community Mentor) The post does not have any triggering content, in particular nothing about SH.

@HealingTalk Thanks! I think I'm going to try bringing it up. Hopefully something positive comes from it. Freaks me out since I don't really know what will happen.

Also, ok. I wasn't sure whether or not to add the warning so I put it in just in case. Glad that there was nothing triggering. I was also trying to be really careful with how I worded everything

Hi!

That sounds like a good plan!

If you get worried, you might find it useful to write down your concerns, so those worries don't stay bouncing all the time in your head

Maybe also write what you wish to say, so you feel more confident, having prepared the exact words you will tell in this important consultation.

I wish you all the best!

Marcelo

I agree that I would tell the doctor. The more information that they know the better. And they are also used to people getting upset in their offices. Is takes a little bravery, but it usually helps.

And if the visit doesn't go well, that can be the doctor's fault, not yours. @determinedNest6866
