Scared of the dentist

Hey.

I’ve recently noticed that one of my teeth is worse off and that I should really go to a dentist since the Orajel and ibuprofen can only do so much. My constant clenching and grinding of my teeth when I’m stressed or sleeping has lead me to this- I’ll likely need a cap or an extraction but I’ve been scared of the dentist ever since I had to have four impacted baby teeth pulled out when I was 9.

Of course this fear was only made worse when my mother (through losing her dental insurance and never trying to get her younger children dental care afterwards) lead to me not seeing a dentist ever again.

Yes the blame fell on me once I became an adult, but I didn’t have insurance for the longest time and dental care costs so much.

Well, I’m paying for that idiocy now as I’m getting myself more and more frightened before I attempt to call my Medicare provider and request the dental care they offered in one of their most recent letters to me.

I am set to at least look at the paper again and try to call the number tomorrow.

Wish me luck, I guess.

It's okay to feel scared sometimes. That fear was there to protect you. I'm glad you're trying to move forward. Medical care is very important and you deserve to be healed and taken care of.

Good luck! ✨
