It makes you feel like you have someone to talk to. I will not lie, I never sent a letter to a stranger. However, I know someone who has.

I don't feel like I have connection to people even when i am face to face with them.

I feel the same to be honest. This is another reason why I feel writing to a stranger could be helpful. They don't know you and you don't know them. So there is no way to feel like "there is no connection". You just write. And you feel satisfied that a real human might be reading it.
