Suffering in silence
I have been going through this depression alone. I have disconnected with family and friends. I have gained 200 pounds just trying to cope and feel like the mother from who's eating Gilbert Grape. I dont want to be seen by anyone and can't remember when I felt happy or enthusiastic about anything. I feel nothing but shame to the point I'm not even honest with my therapist and have been avoiding her. I have no clue what I'm doing with my life.
Sending strength and peace. It can be really hard to figure out a new direction, but there is one out there for you. Sometimes it is just having the courage to follow that tiny voice that suggests that you try something bold or different. What has that voice been saying?@Zola2468
Idk. The voice tells me something different all the time. I think I'm stuck in the sadness because its familiar and the only constant in my life right now.
It sounds like the voice is telling you that you belong in sadness or that you can't escape it even if you tried. Both aren't true.
It takes lots of time and effort, but you can feel better. One suggestion to start would be to force yourself to write down at least two points in each day where sadness wasn't your overwhelming thought. It might occur while you are in the shower or drinking a glass of water. But write them down. @Zola2468
@Zola2468 I'm here if you want to talk.
Thank you. I think I've become so reclusive because i don't want to hear how I just just "be happy from my friends and family who don't understand what I'm feeling.
