Telling a Narcissist You’re Moving Out

I’m gonna be 35 in 5 days, and I’ve been with this really great guy for just over two years now. My mom has hated him from the beginning because he has a bad past. He was in a band, and he’d drink a lot when they had gigs. Eventually, he realized he was hurting himself, and possibly his kids, so he went to rehab. His family disowned him because of his behavior, and when he and I got together, my parents hated it. To this day, they still do, and they’ve tried everything they could to stop me from being with him. I see him for the person he is now because I didn’t even know him when he had his band. We’ve been engaged since Valentine’s Day last year. I stayed with him for a week last month to prove to my parents that I can make it on my own. I also have health problems, which might be part of why they are the way they are. How do I tell them I’ve made a decision about moving in with him?

Ultimately, you just have to get it over and done with and tell them.

You are an adult and it's your decision.

You can see something in him, that your parents cannot see.

They only want the best for you and hopefully he'll treat you right and prove them wrong 💚🤗

You are past 30 years old (Happy early 35th birthday by the way in case I miss it on the actual day which I’ll try my best not to but life gets in the way you know so I’m just saying it now bc saying it early is better than saying it late or not saying it at all right??) so you gotta choose how you wanna go about it and which way will make you the most happiest. You can go to your parents and tell them. You can leave them a note or send them a message. Or you can just leave without saying anything to them. It is completely up to you.

Either way, congratulations on moving ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
