The Silence That Broke Me
My Story
I grew up in a shattered home — no warmth, no safe arms to run to.
My father was there in body, but absent in every other way.
No words of comfort, no gentle gaze, no sense of protection.
I needed a father who would hold me… not one who made the silence heavier.
And my mother...
She was the loudest wound in my life.
Her cruelty was not only in words, but in looks, in tones, in the way she diminished me day after day.
She broke my spirit, poisoned my self-image, and made me doubt if I had any worth at all.
I thought that growing up would mean freedom.
But the pain followed me — into work, into friendships, into family.
Everywhere I turned, I met the same patterns, the same wounds.
I tried.
I went to therapy.
I studied, I healed, I did everything I could to change.
But life kept pulling me back into the same cycle of hurt.
I lost my job.
Not because I wasn't capable,
but because I was broken — inside and out.
Drained. Empty.
Unable to keep pretending I was okay.
Now, I wake up with no strength.
I carry a silent depression that no one sees.
I feel abandoned by everything — and everyone.
I live in a world that feels cold,
with a heart that no longer believes it’s worth the fight.

My dad was there, but not there, too. I understand... *hugs*

It must be so hard to go through this, but you are not alone! It may feel like it, but remember that it is ok to not be ok!

Welcome! It’s awesome to have you here. <3
My life is pretty similar too. I feel the best thing I can tell you is I understand and there are other people like you too
