Only sometimes! Torpor is the thing that everyone normally calls hibernation (bears torpor, some frogs actually hibernate)

It’s just a fancy thing they do :)

Have a lovely lovely day!!

What’s the difference?

You too!! <3

During torpor, things just slow down. Like with bears, it’s basically just a big nap. They still wake up sometimes and eat some food, their hearts are just slower.

With real hibernation, everything stops, and it’s like pressing pause. For frogs, some of them are adapted to basically pool all of their water content into their stomachs so they don’t freeze, and then they just *stop* for all winter until they thaw out. They usually dig a little hole and wait it out underground (:

It’s really cool, I’m a bio nerd lol

I want to do that! Hehe

@politePlace5370 Yes, I like it. The torpor sounds like we still have the potential gift and are waiting for us
