@Okayyitssophia hey sophia i understand that this is really really tough. you sound like my older sister... i understand its hard to not only support the family that you love but also carry the emotional load. and it seems like no one understands the responsibility and the burden. I hope everything gets better... you are strong and you got this.

Hey Sophia. That sounds like a really bad situation, I’m sorry. For ways to improve your situation, I have a couple of ideas, but remember that you know your situation better than me!

Firstly, if at all possible, start your own bank account. I’m guessing you have a car to get to and from your job, so one day, go early to/ leave early from your job. If you go to a chase bank, there’s a highschool account without any charges that you can set up (though I’m not sure if that’s location dependent). Otherwise, research beforehand to find a plan/bank account with good rates. With that, you can save up some of your money (as much as you can without your family getting angry/noticing).

I’m not sure how much money you make, so you may have to table this depending on your income, but if your income is stable enough, consider moving away from your family. You said they treated you badly, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem to move/live somewhere else. Rooming with someone is pretty common, so you and a friend can share a room and get a manageable rent.

Other than that, consider investing, though it will need careful attention since it has risks. I can’t think of much more right now, but I hope this helps! Sending love <333
