scared about my future

I’m not really happy. I feel lost, sad, and lonely. It’s like the more I get older the more scared I am for the future. It’s not that I don’t know what I wanna do as a career and when I get outta high school because I do, it’s just that I guess I’m just so tired of living right now that I just don’t see myself doing anything / living in the future, and I don’t know how to not feel this way.

Life isn't about a career. There are alot of people who want to meet you in the future, alot of bright spark people who will open up new joy.

For just about everybody, Middle/High school is the lowest point of life, socially that age is so incredibly hard on everybody. Life gets so much better.

Look forward to the good people you haven't met yet. Think about them. Have conversations with them in which you both say "Can't wait to meet you!"

Thank you for sharing how you’re feeling. It takes a lot of courage to express those emotions, and I want you to know that your feelings are valid and important.

It sounds like you’re experiencing a deep sense of sadness and uncertainty about the future, which can feel incredibly overwhelming, especially as you transition from high school to the next stage of your life. The pressure to figure everything out can be intense, and it's understandable to feel lost or scared.

You mentioned feeling tired of living right now. That sense of fatigue can weigh heavily on you, making it hard to envision a positive future. It’s okay to acknowledge that—many people go through similar feelings at different stages of their lives.

Since you have clarity about your career goals, that’s a strong foundation to build on. However, the emotional fatigue you’re experiencing might be clouding that vision. It’s important to give yourself permission to feel these emotions without judgment. Consider exploring what brings you joy or comfort, even in small ways, and how you might incorporate those into your daily life.

Connecting with others can also help alleviate feelings of loneliness. Whether it’s spending time with friends, family, or even engaging in communities that share your interests, those connections can foster a sense of belonging and support.

Finally, remember that it’s perfectly okay to take things one step at a time. You don’t need to have all the answers right now. Allow yourself the grace to explore your feelings and experiences without the pressure to solve everything at once.

You’re navigating a lot of changes, and it’s completely normal to feel uncertain. Acknowledging these feelings and being kind to yourself during this process is crucial. You deserve to feel hopeful about the future, and while it might take time, there is always the possibility for positive change.
