when does the depersonalisation end

I'm 26, I'mij a situation where I can't move forward, or do anything, even leave my room, or my house, or talk to anyone until I clear this very difficult exam, and my parents think it's embarrassig I haven't cleared it yet, so I can't leave my room at all until I clear it, and it's been 3 years of my sitting here in this chair

all my friends have moved on, everyone is getting married, I couldn't bear to see it anymore and I don't have any form of social media, and I'm just alone

i put on a YouTube video when I feel overwhelmed, mostly just to hear someone talking because I feel so alone, and I just dissociate completely and I waste so much time

and nothing feels real anymore, even getting up to brush my teeth, I come back and just wonder what I just did, like nothing feels real or i don't feel real, or this place doesn't feel real, and idk what to do, i have noone, I don't even feel motivated to self exit which just feels dissappointing, and idk, I need help, but I have no money and my family frowns apon mental health help, so I can't get therapy

just is there anyone else who feels like this

I'm familiar with situations like yours, where parents put a lot of pressure on their child, even when the child is already an adult. Your situation is complicated, but you need to understand that you have a say in this. Even if your parents are against it, you’re already 26 and you can do whatever you want. That might sound harsh, but it’s true. They might feel embarrassed that you didn’t pass the test, but you’re actually more relaxed about it yourself, aren’t you? At the very least, to regain control of the situation, start by doing small things. Brush your teeth, do some exercises, meditate, pray, and say encouraging words to yourself. Literally, one step at a time. And do this to gradually become more confident. And one more thing: don’t compare yourself to others. They have their own situations. You’re on a different path, and you’re doing great, too. You’ll figure this out.

Yes Leyla2404. There are many people who feel just like this. Thank you for sharing, I can understand how difficult this is. And it is ok. It’s ok to take a break and just not want to be around people anymore. But use this time to rediscover you.

To sit with oneself in peace and love is a journey we all should take. If we understand who we are on the inside we can plant the seed for what we are actually needing in the tribe we seek.

There are a lot of great podcasts out there and famous writers giving away their books. Broken down and just here take these building points see what’s out there for you to build from. Mel Robbin’s, Alison Wood Brooks, free speeches. All from your phone.

The more you question the more answers you get. Through this darkness your body will bear its light. It just takes one spark, one quote one event that wills you out of bed. Use this step as a step forward.

Best wishes

Hello, I’ve experienced something similar various times. Though it may have not lasted as long as 3 years I focus on taking small steps. Productivity & exercise has always helped me feel motivated & helped my mood improve as well even if it was temporary. Consistency can be hard when you’re really struggling but as long as you make small commitments everyday I think it can really boost your own self esteem. As everyone else said, despite your parents having a stigma around mental health you are grown and you know what you feel is real, and it’s okay to seek help. Do the best you can, be gentle with yourself and take care 🩵

hmm yeahh, thank you so much, definetly trying now, there's better days now and then, and yeahh I'm grown up, im from India, so it's sort of a cultural thing where they just will never let go of you,

idk I have my final exam attempt in a month and I'm thinking I need to get through it then just get some healthy distance for a few years afterwards, but again yeah it depends on how the exam goes
