Feeling unwanted

User Profile: samd136

I always look for things to do by myself and with friends. Every time I want to do something with my friends they are busy and have no time to do anything with me. But then I see on social media that they are out with someone else. I feel unwanted and that I'm not good enough or fun enough to go out with my friends. Why does everyone seem to ignore me? Why does it feel like I'm not important? When I finally get to see my friends in groups it still seems like I'm not involved in any conversations. I try to be apart of everything but I get blown off. It feels like no one cares about me.

@samd136 Sorry to hear that you are snubbed all the time. Sounds like you need some friendlier friends! One option could be to contact your friends and say something like "Hey, I noticed that you all have been eluding me. I was wondering if you could tell me what I've been doing wrong?" Then you might find out if they have some sort of problem with you or your behavior. (though it can be tricky to get people to be straightforward sometimes) Another option is to try meeting new friends and friendgroups! Local volunteerwork, classes, clubs, events, or www.meetup.com may be some places where you can start looking

if the other doesn't work, try this : accept it as reality. it works for me. realizing that no one wants me and i'm all alone. sometimes it maybe hard, but sometimes it makes me stronger. do whatever you like to do. be happy. you're special, no matter someone likes you or not

This played a big part of why I discontinued Facebooking. Maybe they are your friends, but I've come to the realization that the word "friend" is one loosely used term these days. I don't (still) talk with anyone surrounding me who makes me feel all alone, as I'd rather just spend time alone.

I'm slowly starting to realize the same. I don't talk to many friends anymore. If they really are friends they will make it known.

@samd136 Are you open to finding and building on new ones? You are good at expressing yourself, and I know how you're feeling all too well. It really is one of the worst feelings in the world and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Building new friendships? Of course! I always like meeting new people and finding people I can relate with.

@samd136 Yes I did mean new friendships, sorry I didn't clarify a little better. I'm open to this also, just introverted and shy at first. I hope you've been doing better, if not then it's my prayer for you to feel better with time! Sometimes I wish I could break down the virtual wall and be able to talk with others on here who can relate to these feelings. As much as I love getting long messages (heheh), one-on-one type interacting I like even more

@samd136 Cool, you can talk to me whenever too. Things are pretty restrictive here though as I think I can only chat and message Listeners (?).

@samd136 I asked a Listener, he/she says other members can connect and rom the Group Support pages found under "Chat" on that blue banner. I'll take a look at it, I hope we can find each other there sometime.
