I've been feeling bad for about a year and a half and have decided to join 7 cups to start to try and help myself. I have lots of symptoms of depression and anxiety and do self harm. Hopefully talking to people in this community will be the start of my recovery. Hope everyone else starts feeling better as soon as possible too.

Hey,

I know what you're going through is hard and I'm sorry for how you're feeling... It's sucks and I've been there... Have you tried to seek professional help? I know it's scary but sometimes it's better to try than to go on feeling like you currently do... Depression and anxiety are debilitating... Talk to your doctor because at least things can't get worse seeking help

@TryingtoescapethedarknessTryingtoescapethedarkness No I haven't. I'm really worried and scared about letting any adults know because I don't want my family to find out and am worried about what they'll think of me and what's been happening. But thank you.

I know it's hard and scary but sometimes it's the only way to start feeling better dear... They'll be worried yes but they'll want to help you feel better and help you work through your feelings... Sometimes it's ok to get some help from those you love... That's what being part of a family is all about x

I'd like to start off with saying self harm is only more damaging to yourself. I understand that it can make you feel "something" but it's never the way to go. Your worth so much more than you think! I'm so glad your seeking help. It is the first step to recovering from any type of sadness. Depression sucks. Have you considered being diagnosed? Your medical records are yours! You don't have to give them to anyone so if your thinking of applying for a job your fine. They are completely confidential. In fact, that was the reason I had even waited so long. But the best thing for you to do is to seek professional help. If you think you are depressed or that you have anxiety. try eliminating the stressful and sad things in your life. I'm happy your seeking the help you deserve. I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to and more than willing to be your friend! Feel better, you deserve it!

@EnergizingLove99 Thank you for sending this. I appreciate everything you have said and have been considering a lot of it for a long time. I am very glad to know that medical records can't be shown to employers, but my main concern has always been my family finding out. Thank you.

Similar to what other's have said to you, consider going to seek professional help. Of course though, if you have feelings you'd like to discuss, listeners on here(including myself) would be more than happy to provide you with an outlet to talk to, when you feel down. The 7Cups community stands behind you!
