Hello...

July 21st, 2016

Hi everyone, I'm smudgedpenguin and I'm a uni student in Australia.

It's been a rough couple of months (and years) and I'm hoping to spend the next 3 months off uni getting my head in the right place to finish off my degree.

I am just wondering what everyone does to take a "time-out" from life so they stay on the right track?

Thanks and I wish everyone a wonderful day.

Hey there! I'm glad you've made the decision to take time out. Sometimes that is the best thing we can do to clear our heads and help us re evaluate and get the right perspective so that we can head back in the right direction.

One thing I've found really helpful is to go back to basics. You can only think straight when you're mind is clear of all the things that can cause it stress or negative thinking in general. By basics I mean go back to the things you enjoy doing: it can be sports, or arts or social acitivities. Whatever it may be, make sure it is healthy. Going out drinking or playing video games or things that over stimulate your mind won't help you relax and clear your head.

Also keeping a journal of your thoughts and feelings is a great way to get perspective on your thoughts and feelings and help you put order. Speaking about how you are feeling to listeners on here too may help.

I hope you have a good restful couple of months. :)

Good day! I think it's especially important to take the time off for yourself. One of the many ways is to travel. Explore your own city and learn new things about the place you live in, or discover new places around you.
