For some reason your post affected me, mainly because depression takes courage(and a renewed commitment each day to fight against the negativity, sadness ect that you feel). So good for you, especially in face of additional stresses of job loss, for hanging in there. Take care!

When I finished college:

I was studying to become a nurse. But during my last year at college, I suffered from severe depression. I only had to take exams and then I would be graduated. I didn't want to fail, so I started studying very hard. Every day, during the day and during the night, for three weeks. I was getting exhausted and more depressed, but I kept on going. After those three weeks I got my results, I had passed for all my classes! My teachers knew about my depression and they were very surprised about my achievement. They had never seen something like that before.

After graduating, I collapsed though. I was hospitalized in psychiatry the same day.

Only six months later, when I was feeling better, I realised what I had achieved. I was so proud of myself, and I still am!

Now I'm working as a nurse in a retirement home, for six years already! #MeProud

I can make myself really happy, but that is so exhausting and I don't know how long I can keep that up.

The icebreaker issue: Tell us know about a time when you had some important work pending and you were struggling with depression but still you made it through?

I've had a lot of up and downs in my life. . . I'm 38 and I here to tell of my tales like a bard in a tavern. (i just like soda virgins)
I have faced and fought my demons.

Is it a proudful moment for you? surprise ^-^ So yes I can say I am proud that made it through and faced my demons.
