What Is the Hardest Time of Day For You?

Hey everyone, Happy Friday! While dwelling on the upcoming weekend, it occurred to me that depression impacts our lives in different ways each day, sometimes every hour. So, what is the most difficult time of day for you? Mine is mornings and 2pm. I cried all the way to work this morning. Be kind. Be well.

Mornings are always so difficult for me. The fight to get out of bed every day is one that I can't always win.

I remember when I used to be depressed there was no such thing for me as just "Hardest Time of Day" all times of the day were equally hard, it was hard to get up, it was hard to function during the day, and it was hard in the night. To pick just a certain part of the day would be extremely hard. Impossible even.

Right now it's midday. I come home and change into comfy clothes then I park myself on the couch. I don't move for hours. I even nap. That's when I know things are bad and that I need to find the strength to make changes.

The hardest part of the day for me is getting out of bed!!! I feel so much better once I wash my face and sleepiness away but it can be so difficult to make the first steps of the day.

The hardest is going to sleep then all I think about is how unworthy of waking up in the morning I am.

getting out of bed in the morning is really hard -- and then my sadness is almost crushing until i get going.

then it hits again mid-afternoon, the feeling of dispair. free floating, in my chest, like the morning.

struggling to get to bed is when the negative thoughts get me, and i feel a different kind of sadness, until the sleep aids kick in (if they will).

Evening into late hours of the night... The thoughts creep up on me and haunt me.

Night time because I get all reflective on all the things I shouldve done that day or in my general life. Then I usually crash myself down into the hole of pity and self-doubt and failure. It's even hard for me to get to bed because I don't want to have to deal with tomorrow and the disappointments it could bring....

@Kara33 me too. My daughter (27yo) it trying to teach me to live now & not worry about later. Hard to do when you're a planner. Lol

If you ever forget, you're welcome to message me.

Hugs. I hope they're good today.

Try this, when something upsets you, think of, or write down, two or three positives about the issue or situation. Then, let it go. Try.
