A Friend with Depression

Heyo everyone! *waves*

Okay, maybe the title will be a bit misleading but I do not wanted to just cram too much in the title...

I mean, I have this friend of mine, I know her from the internet, we live in different continents so really it is only an internet friendship but a strong one. I mean, I know her for a very long time now and we have both been through a lot together. She deals with depression and other issues and I deal with depression - dysthimia - and a whole lot of anxieties.

I always have just so many things going on on my mind and it usually helps to just talk with someone. Not venting or anything just be around someone and just talk about whatever. I guess it keeps my mind busy and she is really a good company and we just understand eachother.

Most of the time anyways. Sometimes when she feels down she can really kind of isolate herself from me for months even sometimes and it kind of hurts. I know she loves me tho and she cares about me and it is just her depression and I usually do not tell this to her because, well, I know that at that state of mind she would just interpret it as she has just messed up an other thing which is not true.

I mean, I don't know, I may be selfish here but some days are just really hard for me and I just wish she would be there and when she is acting distant like that it can be really hard on me as well. I mean, is there a way to tell something like this to someone?

Without making them feel even worse about themselves. I mean, I understand her and understand where she is coming from, some days I just want to shut the world out as well. I mean, am I just being selfish here? Should I just wait until she gets better?

I mean, I do not expect anyone to really answer these questions, I guess I just wanted to rant a bit but any suggestion or reply is welcome!

Either way, if you have got to the end of this: thank you very much, it really means a lot for me!
