@reliableCoconut7044 - Hi there. Psychiatric medication can take some time before they kick in, so hang in there. I can understand that having depression can make a lot of things worse and as artists we do feel "out there" where everyone can see. The useless and worthless feelings are typical of depression. Are you familiar with Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way? It has helped me a lot with different kinds of challenges an artist faces. But of course, everything seems bleak when your medication isn't yet functioning at an optimum level. I hope you will feel welcome here and find the support you need.
@Chiaroscuro1 the only thing I dont like about that is I want to know im okay. I really dont lim taking anti depressants bc they make that sense of "okay" seem fake.. I'm not trying to say anything rude about people that use them, just sharing my thoughts.
@UsernameExample - Just trying to make sure I understand you correctly: Are you saying you want to feel okay without taking meds? And that if you have to take them, that means you are not really okay? I wonder how you will know you are okay or what will make you feel secure in the fact that you are okay. I also wonder what exactly you mean by being okay. What does being okay mean to you or what would you say your definition of okay is?
@Chiaroscuro1
What I mean is, if I have to take medication to not think badly about myself or my life path, I dont think of it as "real". It's kind of confusing, but it makes sense to me.
@UsernameExample - It sounds like that could be a tricky thought experiment. I'm not sure that I agree. But what I do believe is that it is your right to choose and that every person can only live his/her life according to what makes sense to him/her. I hope you will find something that works for you.
