Basic functions and depression

I've known for a while that my depression makes simple tasks incredibly different; however, I've been completely unaware about the extent of some of it.

I found out yesterday that my lack of hygeine (of which I've been completely self unaware) has been a problem at work, and my manager has gotten complaints about unkempt hair and clothes. While she only mentioned to me my shirt was wrinkled, I was pretty sure it was me she was talking about when she brought up hygeine at the store meeting (<10 employees). I have never noticed anyone else looking unkempt, and I have a bad tendency to come in to work with wrinkled shirts (sometimes stained) and hair that was thrown into a bun due to the fact that I have a hard time waking up in the morning (not to mention sleep is plentiful but lacking in quality).

I printed a daily hygeine checklist and am washing my work clothes. It makes me feel childish having to do this, but I guess I have to do what I have to do. I'm thankful for my fiance's support.

You're not alone. I have trouble with basic hygiene like brushing hair, showering and clean clothes when in a deep funk too.
