Becoming Depressed over Work Stress

Hey all

I took a new job around 6 months ago so Im still in my probation period. Over the past 6 months, Ive been overwhelmed with the amount of old fashioned paperwork as well as some personal issues (a couple of relatives, including my mother have both been diagnosed with cancer). Ive tried my best to keep up at work but my boss always remains dissatisfied with my efforts, despite me coming in very early and staying late to get things done. This resulted in a long bout of depression which has been getting worse over the past couple of months.

My fear is that I will be let go in the next couple of weeks despite having given it my all and Ive spent this weekend barely eating and staying in bed, even considering suicide on one occasion :(

Can anybody help?

@TiaLeopard11

I work in a job that has a probation period as well. You can only do your best. You can't control the future beyond trying your best to do your job. Odds are that you are not going to be fired, if you are showing up to work and getting work done. However, jobs are not what they used to be, and I've seen some pretty bad things over the years with people being fired for illegitimate reasons. I've also seen discrimination laws broken, and employees routinely get away with it.

You need to make a conscious effort to take care of yourself and eat. If you stay in bed, it only gives your mind a chance to ruminate over and over again what's happening and stress about it. Get up and get out. Do something you enjoy.

You are not defined by your job, and if you have to find another job, then it just means that this wasn't the right job for you.

But dear you are such a strong hearted person dont lose yourself. Trust me as an entrepreneur i am suggesting your boss is just teaching you lessons of patience and standard of work as per your position.

Dont worry lord is with you that's why you yourself gave a thought for yourself.

I understand your your boss is not giving you motivation in good way but trust me he won't let you go and you will get a permanent chair in the firm
