Borderline Insomnia
Hello,
As much as I use sleep as an escape from everything, over the years I've fallen into a cycle of staying up as late as I possibly can so that as soon as I go to bed I fall asleep immediately. This mainly started because if I lay in bed and can't fall asleep, my thoughts start to spiral since I'm still so awake. So I occupy myself until I pass out. This has become a bigger problem since my sleep schedule is getting even worse.
Has anyone else experienced this or something similar?

Hey, Belle! I had similar issues in the past, where I would only go to bed after I was exhausted. Often leading to bad bedtime habits and being on a crazy unhealthy night owl schedule. I used progressive (or deep) muscle relaxation to help fall asleep easier. I'm not sure what would work best for you as you are the expert on you, but I did want to leave a link to 7 cups self-help guide for sleeping better (https://www.7cups.com/sleeping-well/). You might find it useful! I hope you are able to find something that works great for you <3
Hey! Thank you for taking the time to post this and share with us here. I've also been experiencing some insomnia. I know this sounds crazy, but I had a psychology teacher recommend giving yourself sometime during the day to think things like that throw. She called it "worry time" and reported that her students that have tried it have found it to work amazingly well. It might help also to try to find some calming and soothing things to calm yourself down. I use a sleep noise app(it was free) set to rain storm and it helps me sleep. I also want to encourage you to check out the sleep tips link that was posted as well. Good luck and I hope you get some quality sleep soon. :)
