Chronophobia and derealization
I recently discovered I have chronophobia. I have to keep my mind busy at all times or I’ll enter a full on breakdown and anxiety attack including derealization. Yesterday it was the worst crisis ever, I felt so so scared nothing around me felt weird I kept holding onto my plushie and crying until I was a ele to focus a little on my senses. This is really affecting me deeply and I want to return to my psychiatrist (I stopped due to covid and everything about my mental health seemed to be okay). How can I approach this issue to my parents? It’s a specific phobia so it’s a weird thing to explain and could lead to “it’s natural, deal with it” so how can I explain what I feel especially the derealization? Would showing them some articles help? Since I can’t explain myself very well

Hi there, thanks for connecting. My name is Rosie.
I understand you suffer with chronophobia, which I understand is a fear of time and time passing.
You mentioned your parents and how you should share with them what you are going through.
This sounds like a good plan as you do need support with this. I hope you are able to find a way to do this either by talking or showing them an article or even a screenshot of this perhaps.
I wonder if you have also made contact with the psychiatrist and explained what you where going through and your concerns?
Please feel free to chat with us here further, you know where we are.
