Coming off meds
I've been coming off my SSRI for the last month and finally cut it out completely a few days ago
Right now the worst part is the vertigo. It's just constant and has been ongoing for days
Part of me is just hoping others have experienced this as well and has any tips to overcome this battle?
If there's anything I can do at home to help make this stubborn vertigo go away 😣
I experienced that when I was coming off meds. Did your doctor taper you off? Maybe check in with them to let them know you're still feeling dizzy. Maybe they didn't taper slowly enough, or they might have advice.
For me, it just took time for it to work out of my system. It eventually stopped.

Hey!
Yep, my doctor tapered my off - each reduction causing the same side effects. I feel like I've been on a roller coaster for the last while ha I'm just happy I've finally made it off them, and now it can just get better
If the vertigo persists then I'll eventually have to see him but I think I just have to wait for it to get out of my system 😣
Defintely one of the most annoying side effects I've experienced this far hah
@Cielito I was taking some test medication for my epilepsy but can also be used for depression/anxiety .. it will be on the market now, but they did not tell me it was a CV. I was having these out of body type experiences and vertigo issues and really tired .. Now I will be taking an approved anti-seizure med but also used for depression/anxiety that is a CIV. Be careful what those doctors give you! Now I have to be careful w/the meds for my seizures b/c all the new medications just mess w/your head and it's scary! Hallucinations and more black outs and dizziness.
@TransAm85
What does CV stand for ?
Im not sure if im allowed to say the name of the SSRI - but I believe it was approved in 1998. Unfortunately it is a shorter lasting SSRI which makes it more difficult to come off of..
soemtimes doctors will prescribe a longer lasting SSRI to make it easier - and then weening off the longer lasting one isn't as difficult
Buuuut I'm a bit stubborn and strong headed hah I will admit, it's been a tough battle...
But I've finally reduced to nothing! So hopefully the side effects just keep lifting and eventually my brain will level itself back out hA
