Depression 101
The fact that my mom is body shaming me is making me feel more insecure about myself I already know I’m this and that you don’t have to keep telling me she doesn’t even see that I’m trying😔

Hey,
I understand you. It is already hard for you, and her comments about you aren't being helpful. You feel like she doesn't understand you, and she doesn't seem to see that your trying hard.
@starbbylexi
I understand what you mean and that she isn't seeing how hard you're trying. But we at 7 cups surely do. You can always message me or any other listener of your choice and through time we can make a change.
I can relate to this. My family would make remarks, and it has affected how I dress to this day. You're not alone. I've learned that sometimes people say hurtful things with no intention of harming others, but it sometimes...well, does end up being hurtful. If you can, maybe you could try to talk to your mom and tell her that you don't appreciate when she says certain things about your body. It wouldn't hurt to try to get her to understand! Just know that her opinions are hers. Not yours. You could also try to journal to vent when this happens, maybe that could help. Ultimately, when everything comes crashing down, bodies are just the vessels in which our personality and soul can make an impact on the world. Be kind to yourself, best wishes.
