Depression and work

Can you get back to work after being away for several weeks due to depression when you still don't feel any energy or desire to be part of life? It's my 7 th week now of just wanting to sleep or be distracted by TV. I tried to get out a bit here and there but don't feel the inclination for anything, let alone work.

I'm afraid if I'm back in front of my computer I ll sink back low again as each depressive episode has eaten away more of my motivation but lately also made me feel exceptionally incapable and disorganised. I was struggling very much with being unsble to focus or do simple tasks before I had this breakdown so I feel even more disabled in a sense now.

@anonyLemon4233, Be kind to yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself. Breathe. Take it one day at a time. You have made the first step. Going back to work. I have to keep working on things to distract myself until the end of the workday. Keep coming here for help the group is very helpful.

@tealCurrent9178 thanks for finding the time.

I have not got back to work though. I cannot figure out how to do it this time round.

Other methods I used to try before do not seem to be of any use.

Wishing you well on your journey, may you be at ease

Still take it day by day. Take this as a chance to breathe. I like the self-help tools. The chat rooms are nice too. I like to listen to music. Praying for you and wishing you the best.
