Social Media today redefines depression, and sometimes the media's depiction of depression can be damaging. I was wondering on what you guys thought of the portrayal of depression, specifically the portrayal of suicide, in the recent TV show "13 Reasons Why".

- Strengths/weaknesses of the TV show

- Portrayal of suicide

I haven't watched it myself, but from what I've heard it sounds like it could be dangerous for people with depression or who have been sexually assulted. It seems like they didn't handle the topic well.

I watched it and really didnt see how it was meant to be helpful in teaching about depression at all. In fact i found the scene in the last episode far too graphic, which brought a panic attack on :(
