Depression is a vicious cycle

My life goal has always been to serve in the military, and I work so hard to get into top shape... But depression makes it hard and I mess up and eat too much and get fatter and that makes me depressed which makes me lose motivation and mess up again and so on and on.

Can't be happy for anything. Depression is pushing me away from my friends, from a girl that's interested in me, I am like screaming inside my head but on the outside, you'd never know. And nobody ever does.

@infectiousturtle You're right. None of us will ever know your pain and that's the same for all of us. We all go through our experiences alone and you're not the only one depressed. Depression is not easy for anyone and it wasn't for me, but it isn't to be hated either. Depression has valuable lessons from teaching one to be empathetic to teaching one that sometimes I need to help myself if no one else will. There won't be words that magically heal you or one day that the depression goes away and that's okay. It's okay to be depressed, to fail at your goals, to feel hopeless, to feel misunderstood. You don't have to feel a certain way and I have felt all of those and I won't say it gets better becuase life is tough and I don't know. But if you keep taking small steps towards your dream and who you want to be, who knows what will happen because a bad days or a couple of years does not mean a bad life.

@luxx454 hey. You're right. A couple bad days or years don't determine my life...

Thank you that was actually really uplifting.
