Existential crisis?
How do you keep going when everything feels pointless and you're just getting through each day on autopilot?
I do appreciate that it's better to feel nothing than to feel miserable, and I am still getting my tasks done (albeit with a bit more difficulty than before).
I suppose I'm bored and tired of life. I'm struggling to accept the meaninglessness of everything. I don't care for all the things I've yet to experience. I don't care about leaving something behind. I feel like nothing matters.
Am going through the same thing. I think one of the hardest thing in life is to find your purpose. Not knowing where you lie in life is so frustrating.
@Littlegrownup12 I don't feel like my issue is in finding my purpose, but rather, there isn't one.
@Littlegrownup12 The idea of having a purpose has always screwed me up. I wonder who came up with this. Is it possible that someone out there said "we have to have purpose to want to do well in life?" Why?
What if our purpose isn't some grandiose thing? What if our purpose is to bring as much light and happiness to those around us. Or what if it is just to learn as much as possible? Or maybe when we're 85 years old, we encounter someone and completely change their life for the better?
Anyway, it's really screwed me up LOL
Trying to find my purpose has probably been the most depressing thing for me.
@sincereOcean4592 I'm in education, so one could argue that I'm passing knowledge onto these students, inspiring them to be scientists, or whatever. To me, what I do, what the rest of humanity does, doesn't matter. Nothing means anything to me. We are all just an insignificant speck in the universe that will eventually die out, anyway.
@sincereOcean4592
I feel you because right now am wondering what or who am supposed to be. Sometimes I just tell myself to enjoy each day as it comes and not worry about the world or others.
