Feeling kinda down lately

User Profile: Mauricio
Mauricio September 2nd, 2014

I don't know why, but I've been feeling hopeless and lonely for the last couple of years. At the same time, I feel guilty about this, because I have no reasons to be this way, and even if there's a reason, it would be pretty trivial, so I would feel bad to talk about it.
I don't know what to do.

I can really relate to this, especially the "having no reason to feel like this", I hope you feel better soon.

i feel the same way i have been fro the last year and a half, i have thought about killing my sefl a few times but i never go through with it, i think that we all have reasons to feel this way we might not think they are a big deal or it might be something small and it seems like anyone would say thats nothing to feel down about but as long as its something that matters to you no matter how small it seems then its a good enough reason because its important to you.. hope yall feel better soon

I'm right there with you. Sorry I can't offer any other words of advice.

I don't know how to deal with this. I want to see a therapist, but I'm afraid of this making me feel a burden to everyone.

i can relate to how you're feeling. it sucks knowing there's nothing to be "down" about but not being able to shake the feeling. all i can say is stay strong and take it each day at a time. that's what i do and it's better than what i've done before

Ever considered getting a Doctor's opinion? Maybe a diagnosis? Sometimes the reason is chemical and not environmental. Not all people have "situations"... But sometimes the issues are biological and can be adjusted with treatment.

Yes, I considered this for a while, and last week i finally decided to. I still have to find one, because of my job schedule.

It is very difficult at first the diagnosis or the medications prescribed won't work. Well, they didnt for me. Took a few months to get something precise. I am still hunting a psychologist i can relate with. 5 years of misery. I hate medication. I am looking into something more natural, herbs, the talking route, and whatever else that doesn't involve chemicial reactions. But i have seen it work for others and recommend it in suhc casesI wish you all the best. smileyI hope to hear how things are going. Keep the reach.

Thank you. And I'm really sorry you couldn't find a psychologist yet.

When I read this post, it spoke to me. At first, I couldn't put into words what I was feeling...but, when I read this forum. This is it. On point. Can anyone help me? How do I make myself believe that I'm a person with worth and that I'm not a loser and that there are people around me who actually, sincerely, accept me?

That is where you have to accept yourself first. Once you like who you are, changing what you want to change and loving what you cannot change, then it will be easier to hold on to your self worth. No one else defines who you are. You makeyourself. We are not winners, or losers. We are choosers. You have expectations for yourself, and those need to be figured out how you can achieve them, or if you should give yourself a little slack. That is what I have had to deal with. Allowing myself to be human, that I don't need to be "perfect". I am perfect for me.

You might not believe me when I say this, but I actually remind myself daily that I should love and accept myself. Cause I know that is the only way I can love others and other people will love and accept me. But it seems like it's not working. How do you accept yourself? I know it's a pretty vague question, but I am just so frustrated about this.

I still work with it, but I have been very interested in self awareness. Everything about me, I have been trying to figure out and I keep learning new things everyday. I know what I like, what I dislike, what I am willing to change or accept for myself. I know what I stand for and what I will not budge on. I know what I can and cannot control. Its not an easy or quick process, but just the fact that you are trying toimprove yourself for you and you only, is agreat start. I totally believe you when you say its not working when you try. It takes some time and will power. I was so anger at myself for feeling down about this kind of thing, and it fueled me to take hold of myself. Knowing myself, makes it a lot easier to deal with others as well. I do not care about what they think. If they like me, then cool. If not, then they can move on. I am professional when need be, and I carry myself to the worth I think I am. We are all wonderful people, and once we get the hang of it, it feels wonderful too.

At least all of us now know that we are not alone. That we aren't going through these things alone, there are other people, too. And I guess this is a wake up call that we have to be strong for each other, as well.

That is very true. When we are feeling alone, we are never truly alone. It really helps to have a good support system.
