Feeling older

Anyone who has been through repeat depression over the years feels much older than they are?

I'm in my 40s and chronic pain contributes to this feeling much older. I have been feeling more than before that there is not more to life now at this stage. A longstanding weariness. Like I feel there is nothing more ahead and increasingly have lost interest in everything.

The accelerated ageing I feel is both mental and physical.

Anyone else suffers from a perception of being older?

Mate this breaks my heart. It’s not your age making you feel like this. So much happened to you it sucked the life out of you. You have to choose. To live like this or take time to decide how you want your life to be. 40 IS NOT LATE. I know you feel like it and it’s probably hard to see it other way. You gotta decide. If it’s hard try this, do something you like everyday, it will be hard if you’re not used to it like anything new. Gotta feed your self good fuel surround yourself with good company, make everything around you resonate with what YOU like. It has to come from inside out, don’t do something you don’t want it will make you depressed and age quicker. After all there’s not much to life but living it, might as well do that.

Dear @reliableWater8381 thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it.

I think my difficulty is that I feel double my age.

I wish I could recall something I like to do and manage to do it with some minimal enjoyment.

With depression isolation takes place quite easily so socialising is out of the question. Struggling to manage the effort to meet one to one.

I was not always like this. But quite weary of always trying to climb back up when I see no good reason for it
