How bad is it that I'm hoping some anomalous cells my dr found to be actually malignant? Need to stop thinking like this ASAP. And just wait for the result and accept that probably everything's ok.

I often wish I got some disease so I'd have a socially acceptable reason to give up. I don't think it's all that bad, your thinking won't change the prognosis. Whether or not they are malignant, nothing will be the same.
