Happy Endings?
What is a happy ending? What is it, really? Does itexist? Endings aren't happy. If it's the end, it's over. That fact alone is sad. If something makes us happy, why would we want it end? I don't believe in happy endings. Happy moments, maybe, but not a happy ending. There is nothing good about goodbye.
Happy endings are only for movies and books. They are just stories. Stories we use to cope with the fact that there is no such thing as a happy ending. We can't come to terms with the fact that the end for us won't be happy so we tell ourselves these ridiculous stories to trick ourselves into thinking that maybe it will be happy in the end.
I did it. I thought that one day everything would turn out fine. I watched the movies; I read the fairytales... I believed them. I was happy watching how everything fell into place. But now I'm not. I hate happy endings. I get sad seeing it all work out; seeing them fall in love... "And they lived happily ever after" I hate those words the most. I hate them because they are a lie, and I know it. The entire world is lying to me. There is no such thing as a happy ending.
@MickeyKat, our happy endings might not turn out to be like that of a storybook, but it could still turn out to be something more than you think it will be at this moment. I, like you tend to look for the negative side of things and looking too much in the past. These feelings are what has put me struggling with the depression that i am now. You dont give information as to why you feel like this and thats fine, but i can tell you, i have had a lot of bad things happen in my life and some still ongoing. With the help of my counselor, the wonderful listeners on here, and the other great resources they have on here, i believe it can help you too. Theyre trying to get me to live for the present and the future and i will get there with the help. I hope these words can give you some kind of comfort.
