Having a hard time coping with life
I'm having a hard time coping with being cooped up in the house during this time of quarentine. My bf picked a fight with me and then put me down when I got emotional. I never claim to know what to say or do in every situation and have really been trying to think logically and meet in the middle but it just seems like his anger is really too much sometimes.
I spend all day alone because my work has been shut down and I find I cry more than I don't. Any coping strategies? Any help would be appreciated
@Musician1983 Hi there my friend. I'm so sorry to hear how hard the quarintine has been for you. These are definitely scary, trying times for us and I really hope things get better soon. That is unfortunate that your boyfriend started a fight with you and then put you down for being emotional- I'm sorry he did that to you. When people put us down for being emotional, we don't feel validated and we feel like our emotions don't matter. I can understand why you say his anger can be too much sometimes. Anger is a really mean emotion and it can become extremely scary if not properly managed. Being socially isolated and not being able to go to work can really cause a lot of mental frustration. I've been feeling the stress as well so I've been making sure to really up my self-care during these times. I wash my face twice a day, walk around my house to get some steps in, use aromatherapy to help calm my nerves, listen to classical music, take hot baths, drink lots of water, take vitamins, and come on 7 Cups to talk with everyone. What do you like to do for self-care and do you have a self-care plan that you like to use when times get really tough mentally? I hope you are safe today
