How do you deal with depression?
As listeners we often suggest ways to deal with depression , now I wanna know from the members what they do to deal with it? :)
@YourFriendforever
i write poem, journal, sketching, drawing doodles, making minizines, watch movies, chat with friend or family.
but at times i just can do nothing. i cry. thats the hardest time. but it will pass. :D
@easyLion6538 I'm glad you have found ways to cope with your depression! It's okay to cry though, that's a good form of emotional release.
@easyLion6538
It always does pass, and I agree it's tough going through the hard times. When they pass though, I'm so glad I'm still pushing forward. Good luck in your endeavors!
@easyLion6538 Glad to see your optimism. Sometimes you may feel low and cry. That's okay. Your optimism will take you through. ❤
Ironically, I'm having a really tough time dealing with it today. I have no motivation to do even the things I most enjoy. Normally, I would either spend time on my hobby and/or listen to uplifting music. Although I am struggling right now, I do believe it will pass. The first step is admitting the struggle!
@tmf4him
You're not alone on that,it happens with me too,it happened to me today,just talk to family it helped me.
@tmf4him Glad to see your optimism. Yeah music is a great relaxer. You will get through this. Stay awesome.
By the time I sought help it was already to the point of needing drugs to be able to regain enough energy to take care of myself so I went to doctor and they prescribed ciprolex (Escitalopram Oxalate). At first 10mg was too much a day so I had to cut back to 5mg to minimize the side effects of being too jittery/restless. Thankfully I was made aware beforehand that brain freeze or frosty feelings (not painful) are normal so was expecting it and it therefore didn't scare me. It's supposed to happen.
(I'm not a doctor and if you consider this route I can only recommend speaking to a real physician first.)
@CoinFountain
I think I followed your route. I'm scheduled to see a psychiatrist the 5th and suspect I'll likely be prescribed something for depression and anxiety. I think the med you mentioned is common for both. I'll be sure to start at the lowest dose if I get it as well. I wish you luck and hope that eventually you won't need meds.
@Surrealistic1337
Thanks. I hope you'll eventually not require them also. <3
@CoinFountain @Surrealistic1337 Glad you have decided to take help of a therapist. Continue with the prescriptions as per his directions. Overtime you will start feeling good.
