How do you get out of bed in the morning?

Waking up and getting out of bed (especially since I'm a university student and I essentially make my own schedule/study time) is the hardest thing.

Trying to wake up at 9, hitting snooze 12 times and barely rolling over at noon, is a constant struggle. I never want to face the day. I just want to stay wrapped up and asleep where I don't have to exist. but the later I wake, the worse I often feel.

So, tell me, what can I do to get myself up? What do you do to get yourself up?

I opened my eyes after a nightmare and never wanted to sleep again.

Today at my own speed, it's wonderful, cup a hot coffee, relaxing before I do some work

I know the feeling oh too well.

It takes me a very long time to get out of bed, a lot of the time I end up staying in bed for hours and not leaving my room.

What I try to do is remind myself that I'll only feel worse when I stay in bed, and I don't want the anxiety/my mood to get any worse. So I start with eating something, or if I'm not really hungry, skip that and take a hot shower or bath.

Checking Twitter on my phone doesn't help! But setting an alarm for a reasonable time does. Also knowing the weather will be nice and I have stuff to do that I won't have to worry about once it's done.

@7fullcups Sometimes I don't. I'm overwhelmed with a emptiness and with thoughts, but I fight a lot - so I get up. Especially as sleep gets worse and worse I try every way of getting away from my thoughts if I have energy.
