How to Get Going in the Morning?
When I wake up, I make plans what should I do during the day. But I end up doing none of these instead of sitting at the computer chatting here at best. Some days I can cook for myself and littlestuff like this (getting out of the house is a next level)... Days like these I can't even get dressed. I can't even get myself to watch a movie. My 'achievement' is getting out of bed I suppose that comes easy as the computer is only ten steps away.I have tried to write down a To Do list. Still I can't get to it. When trying to force myself I just feel crap and do nothing.
Because everything feels either like crap (doing entertainingstuff like watching a movie) or too hard or - as weird as it is - kind of humiliating (doing chores like cleaning the house). I've noticed that when there's people (especially friends) around even just to chat with (in real life) I can do stuff. But most of my days I have stay alone at home until the evening (as no-one can stay here with me). Sadly, it also includes any self-help exercises or even reading the really good self-help book I got (it's called 'Overcoming Depression' by Paul Gilbert).
But how can I ever cure if I just... can't do it? Any ideas what would help to get going?
Hello! *waves awkwardly* It's really nice to meet you! I can totally agree about loving this site vs. actually talking to people face-to-face. *hisses and clutches Netflix and Oreos* Anyway, I've had problems like that before too, but the difference for me is that i actually HAVE to go out because i'm involved in stuff like schooling or jobs, etc. Even then it's sometimes hard because i have bad days. If you've got friends that live nearby you can have them over just to watch a movie, or get involved in a sport or club to give you a goal to strive for. I do karate myself and the people there are really encouraging.
I know you've probably heard "I'm sorry," or "it'll be okay" before, but i really hope this helps! I always want to help people out because i know how painful it is to feel alone. Believe me, i felt that BIG time...and still do. So, anyway, i really, really hope this helps you and I am sorry you're going through this.
Hang in there! :)
