I Want To Be Better
I've been a "budding writer" for about 6 years now. My teachers in school always praised my storytelling, and said that I clearly enjoyed it ( I love it). But I can never get more than a page. I'm always afraid that it will suck, or that people will hate it, and then I delete it all.
I know that my stories could help my family, financially as well as emotionally. It's always been a dream of mine to be able to write a full story, and have it published. I want this so much, but I can't get started.
If anyone could help me with this, I'd be eternally grateful and indebted. I love writing, and I want to be able to do it again.
I also love to write. A lot of the time I think my ideas are crazy or even stupid, but then I think to myself 'this is something different. This is something new' and I keep going.
Sometimes it's hard to stay motivated or you run out of ideas. Do some brain storming. Write down possible plot ideas, character ideas, keep creating the story until you figure out what direction you want it to go. That, my friend, is where you will discover more about what you want the story to be and make it happen.
It is challenging. There will be plenty of times when you will read over something and think "what the hell am I writing". Don't get rid of it. Make edits to it, find other ways to word things, add more detail, create the most vivid image you can for your reader. At the end of the day this is your idea and you made it, you should be proud. It takes time to find your own style and identity when writing but it will come to you if you keep going. Then you will be able to look back on older work and see how far you've come :)
I wish you luck! You can do this!

@Blowbreaker please believe in yourself and please don't delete your work. You can always revisit and make changes. They're your ideas, treat them like precious gems. Would you destroy your valuables? No...so keep hold of these precious gems :)
