I have like two "closest" friends -they are not closest at all- which I have a friendship with but I was the only one giving and I didin t received anything at all. If I didn t talk to them they didin t and the worst thing is that two years ago, I finished a friendship with one girl because I was deppressed and had family issues and she didin t understand and get angry at me bc I couldn t go out with her -I was taking care of my mom and because I felt miserable, I didin t want to go anywhere-. One month later, another friend get mad at me because I couldn t go to her birthday and since then, all of the rest of friends and those two started ignoring me for a year -even though one of them told me that everything was fine-. That year I met a group of girls that were kind, supportive and positive -who surprise me because since the last yeard (when they started ignoring me) I started have anxiety and overthink too much and being much deppresed about myself and everything-and the birthday girl and a guy that I ve always considered as my bf -but he only talked to me when he need someone to talk to he didin t care about my feelings and he would angry if I tell hem that I was fine and positive- get mad at me because I went out those girls instead of them.

Since this summer, I haven t talk to them because I was tired of being the only one who gives. This last year I was feeling better. I still have anxiety and depression but I was starting to feel better about myself, my family and everything. I was fine since Friday. When uni finished I looked at my phone I was surpised when I was that the birthday girl have joined me into a group chat for going out on Christmas. We didin t have talk since July and now she "talks" to me ?!?! And suddenly, I start feeling anxious and nervous bc I couldn t understand why she would join me into a group with her, the guy and the other girl and many people which I didin t talk since... two years?? So now I am overthinking because I don t know what to do because it would be weird to talk to them like everytihing is fine and that we are best friends when we re not!

I know that many people have most serious problems than I so I m sorry to bother you with that but I don t have anyone to talk about. I will appreciate If someone could help me. Thanks :)

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your situation with us. It sounds like things are really confusing with the way your friends seem to suddenly contact you when you didn't talk for so long. I can understand that it must be weird to talk to them like best friends when you haven't been close for a long time. It's also terrible when it feels like you're the only one making and effort to reach out to your friends.

It sounds like finally one of your old 'friends' finally decided to make an effort to ask you to join them for Christmas! Might be strange talking as if you were best friends, so you could think if you'd prefer to approach them like they were new friends and getting to know them again. It's entirely up to you how you want to connect with them, if you choose to at all. I hope things turn out fine for you this Christmas!
