I don
Im so tired. I got a new therapist but I highly doubt that she will be helpful
if it wasnt for my mother I use to say, now I dont care about her. she brought me without the courage or talent to raise me into a competent person.
I dont know, Ive been leaving threads in 3 websites now, and Im tired
why bother even posting this ?
I hear you. I understand. I really hope you get the proper help you deserve. Is there anything I can do to help?
We all suffer (or have suffered?) in one way or another. In a way it is just part of being alive. How different people react to events is so complicated; it almost seems random.
To me, it's sort of like 'What makes up a memory?' We all have memories of tiny, seemingly unimportant, insignificant things? I can understand why our brains 'remember' some of thebig things; it's the little things that I don't understand.
Sufferingis tiresome. Just findingany words is such an enormous task at times. You haveevery right to give yourself time to just hide and 'veg'. Just set a time totry also. A couple of days doesn't seem to me to be harmful. I don't know....others may disagree with me here. Just remember to set a time totry. Go through the motions a little. As difficult and tiring as it is, try.
It isno sign of weakness to ask for help. You would probably know best where to look; but if you have any doubts, please ask! I'd be happy to offer suggestions, as would many people here!
Try to be kind and patient with yourself. That too is difficult and tiresome. Maybe set asside an hour or so a day where you can do this at first. Hey, it's a start.
I won't wish you luck since luck has nothing to do with it. I'll wish you 'strength'.
Be strong & courageous
@JeffWM, I just stumbled upon your reply and I just have to thank you for writing it. I needed to read such words today, and your compassionate and intelligent insight fill me with peace. I feel encouraged to keep on trying.
Thank you, lovely, for relentlessly supporting so many people in forums. I really appreciate how much time you put into 7 Cups. Wishing you a peaceful day!
@Celaeno
You are very welcome. Sadly, I'm barely able to respond. :( I broke my wrist & had surgery on it this past Thursday. Of course, it's my dominant hand, so I am typing with one finger on my left hand. blah
@JeffWM, oh that's right, I've forgot about your injury - sorry! Please don't feel guilty or obligated to reply - just focus on your health. We will patiently wait for your full recovery ^^;
Please take care of yourself. Sending you good wishes!
@Celaeno
It's ok. I better figure out something. Very likely I have six more months before I'll be able to use it.
@JeffWM, such a long time of healing - can't imagine how frustrating you can sometimes feel about the situation. Waiting must involves for you lots of patience and systematic self-care. Still, I'm glad that the operation was possible for you and that it's *only* 6 months. It could be a year or forever. This time will eventually pass and you will regain full recovery and that's something worth looking forward to.
I will be a bit presumptuous and allow to send you a hug to make this day a bit better for you.
*hugs*
Best wishes, @JeffWM!
@Celaeno
I always try to believe that a day that begins with my feet hitting the floor before my head is a good day! I have been feeling a bit bad for myself lately though. I have almost no face to face adult interactions. I am a writer & a reader: two vocations that can be very lonely. Now, I'm barely able to write. It seems all of my interactions have me hiding behind a computer. (A lot of that has to do with the fact that I have a daughter who is going to be 14 this week & a 9-year old son who deserve my attention. I barely even read when they are awake. Some has to do with time zones. I work with people, oddly enough on such differing topics as encryption & translations of ancient religious relics from Southern India and Tibet-- odd enough of a combination?
) I'm cut off from all of that now. I'm 52 and my wife is addicted to the Internet-- Second Life.
I'm sort of resigned to trying to find a different niche for myself, but that proves to be quite difficult. I even contacted a local (low level prison) where years back I volunteered teaching, Eglish, writing, and meditation. The person I used to deal with has since retired, and her replacement is reluctant to take on the liability with my wrist…
I'm kind of lost. This blind sided me. For the majority of my life, I've done for others, pushing down what I may need or want. Forgive me if I sound too perverted, but I find myself fantasizing about having my back scratched. I hope I haven't crossed any moral guidelines!
I have to stop with the self-pity! I just never realized how alone I really am or how alone we all are to differing extents.
@Theunforgivingmoon Hello! I want you to know that we all hear you, and we are here for you (:
Finding the right therapist, sometimes, can be difficult. They have to work with you just as much as you work with them. It really is a team effort. If you ever need anyone to talk to, we are all willing to listen!
I hope you start to feel better soon <3
