I don't know what to do
Hi, I'm 16 (almost 17) years old and I've been depressed for around two and a half years now. I've been going to the councillor at my school and I guess that kind of helps but only a tiny bit. I just don't feel like I'm ever going to get better. I don't enjoy doing anything I used to which makes everything so boring all the time. That also makes me feel selfish because my life is pretty good but I can't enjoy it. I just don't want to feel like this anymore and I don't know what to do.
Hi there, i just have a pretty rough time right now as well, i have been depressed for a long time now, but i learned to live with that. But i know how is that, when you can't feel anything, and I you used to be a really happy and adventurours kid and even a teenager but then everything got downhill... I don't know how to be that person ever again, but maybe this will help you a little bit. When i have the strenght to do things , i try as much new stuff as i can, and change my environment often (once i moved to London for a year- but you are still too young for that:) ). And another thing, i like to help people, its gives my life meaning, don't think about like a saint person does... just when you know in the end of the day that you did something significant its feels awsome. Maybe somebody knows the solution, i just know how to survive on day after another, but i still try do things in my life, to have dreams and fulfill them. I don't think anybody has a perfect life so you have to work with what you got :) Keep going and dont give up, try to have fun!
Ps. sorry for my bad english :)
Thank you for taking the time to post. I appreciate you reaching out. Depression is cruel because sometimes it likes to make us feel guilty for being depressed even though our lives are great. You are not selfish for being depressed at all. Much like a long term illness, depression takes alot out of you. I'm so very proud that you are seeing a therapist. I know it seems like it's only helping a little, but I believe one day you'll look back and realize that little bit of improvement everyday added up to something huge over time. I often struggled with depression when I was a teenager and felt that it would never end. The thing that gave me hope was the idea that our brains aren't fully developed until we're 25 and maybe there was still a chance for me. (Now this doesn't make scientific sense of course, it was just something that helped me) but it did get better. Depression is a battle we didn't choice to fight, but it is one that can be won, with time and work. I wish you the best of luck in your journey. You're gonna be amazing. :)
I am sorry that you are going through this.

Hi, I really like your post as you're trying to help yourself and realizing that there a solution. Feeling sad yet having a good life is very confusing and makes everything worse but you need to figure out why you're feeling sad inside. You could try get medicine because it'll change your mood and maybe make u feel less sad. You could try find more things that could make u happy such as cycling, swimming or working out or even baking! You could just sleep on it (a little nap) to boast your mood and not let it ruin your day! Its hard but you will find a solution
